Common Bet Types Explained

A plain-language guide to how standard betting markets work — from Match Result and Asian Handicap to Dead Heats and season futures.

Not sure how a market works? This guide covers the most common bet types on our Sportsbook and explains exactly how each one is settled.

Unless stated otherwise, all markets are settled on the result at the end of regular time. Regular time means the original full time plus injury time — extra time and sudden death don't count.

Match Markets

  • Match Result (1X2) — Bet on a home win (1), a draw (X), or an away win (2). Simple as that.

  • 12 (No Draw) — Used for sports where draws aren't possible, like Tennis or Volleyball. Pick either team to win.

  • Money Line — A two-way bet with no draw option. If no winner is produced, your stake is refunded.

  • Double Chance — Cover two of the three possible outcomes in one bet: 1X (home or draw), 2X (away or draw), or 12 (either team wins).

  • Draw No Bet — Back either the home or away side. If the match ends in a draw, your stake is refunded.

Handicap & Totals

  • 3-Way Handicap — Includes a draw option at the exact handicap margin. Three outcomes: home win, draw, or away win (after the handicap is applied).

  • Asian Handicap (2-Way) — No draw option. If the result exactly equals the handicap line, all bets are void and stakes are returned.

  • Totals / Over-Under — Bet on whether the combined score goes over or under a set line. If the score lands exactly on the line, all bets are void.

Goals & Scoring Markets

  • Both Teams to Score — A yes/no bet on whether both teams find the net before the final whistle.

  • Correct Score — Predict the exact final score. If your scoreline isn't offered as a market, the bet is settled as a loss.

  • Half Time / Full Time — Predict the result at both half time and full time combined (e.g. Draw / Home Win).

  • First Team to Score — Pick which team scores first. If no draw option is offered and the match ends 0-0, all bets are void.

Player & Participant Markets

  • Player Specials — All named players must receive official playing time for the bet to stand.

  • Head to Head (H2H) — If neither participant starts, the bet is refunded. If both start but only one receives a result, the bet stands.

Dead Heats

A dead heat happens when two or more participants tie for the same position and no specific tie odds were offered.

When this happens, the net winnings are divided by the number of participants sharing the outcome. For example, if three players tie for first place, you receive one third of the net profit you would have won outright.

Season Bets & Futures

  • Winner — If your selection doesn't start the competition, your bet is refunded. For Place markets (Top 3, Top 5, etc.), dead heat rules apply.

  • Topscorer / Pointscorer H2H — Both players must feature in at least 50% of the competition's matches (including as substitutes) for the bet to stand.
